Joe Skinner – Chief Cricket Officer

Joe heads up the Cricket Development team. Joe’s main roles involve setting the strategy for Cornwall Cricket, workforce management and programme development. Joe is also responsible for budget management across all Cornwall Cricket projects and programmes of work. Joe line manages all other members of the Cornwall Cricket team and is also the main point of contact for Cornwall Cricket’s Member Organisations as well as being responsible for club development and league engagement across the county.

Joe has been working for Cornwall Cricket Board since 2006 and has seen the role evolve in to what it is today, from very hands on in terms of delivery to very much a strategy, management, club support and community engagement role. Joe is a Level 3 cricket coach and a coach tutor. Joe has over the years worked as a school coaches as a former Development Officer in Gloucestershire as well as managed and coached junior age groups in both Gloucestershire and Cornwall.

Chris Hunkin – Performance Manager

Chris heads up the Performance player pathway, from the Development sections at U10s through to the Development XI under the Cornwall County Club. Chris has responsibility for working with the CSCA and Coaches Association in appointing the coaches and managers for the Age group squads and managing the quality f this. Chris also has responsibility for the EPP, Junior Academies and the relationships with First Class Counties.

Chris has been working for Cornwall Cricket since 2005 as a part time Community Cricket Coach, he took on a full time role with CCB in March 2016. Chris is a Level 3 cricket coach who is working towards his Level 4, one of two in Cornwall. Chris played cricket for Somerset County Cricket as well as represented Cornwall in Minor County Cricket. Chris has many years experience of working in schools, he started of as a community coach but has developed into an excellent all round coach which allows him to be an excellent coach tutor.

Michelle Kent – Project Manager / Schools Competitions

Michelle heads up the various development projects that are run within Cornwall such as Women’s Softball, the Golf Day and Schools Competitions. Michelle also manages the huge database of people involved in cricket, and communications for the player pathway.  Michelle is also involved in being a Club Support Officer responsible for supporting clubs in achieving Clubmark Accreditation on an annual basis.

Michelle has been with Cornwall Cricket since 2015 and has since completed her coach support workers qualification, and is an All Stars Activator for her club. Michelle is heavily involved in Mount Ambrose CC as an All Stars and Women’s Softball lead.

Craig Williams – Community Development Officer

Craig is responsible for delivering cricket within the West of Cornwall setting, working with schools on the Chance to Shine programme and supporting clubs with the National programmes.

Craig is also responsible for delivering table cricket opportunities for people with disabilities holiday camps and is also a Clubmark support Officer for West clubs.

Craig has been employed by Cornwall Cricket since 2016, he is a Children’s cricket Coach (Level 2), an All Stars Cricket Activator as well as experience in delivering at elite youth level. Craig is involved in running Redruth Junior section, so has a good understanding of club management, volunteers and Clubmark.

Mustafa Shaikh – Cricket Centre Manager / All Stars Cricket Champion (East)

Mustafa (Starts on the 1st August 2018) has joined our team and will be responsible for the Cornwall Cricket Centre, all bookings and activity within the facility such as indoor cricket leagues and holiday camps. Mustafa will also be responsible for the All Stars Cricket programme in the East of the County supporting the ECBs key junior growth programme. Mustafa will also have the responsibility for delivering the strategy for Disability Cricket.

Mustafa is an excellent addition to Cornwall Cricket, he has years of experience of working in schools. He has been a Head teacher in past employment. Mustafa has been a county age group coach for Somerset County as well as a former stint in Cornwall. Mustafa is a level 3 cricket coach with a raft of experience in all age and ability groups.

Kellie Williams – Women and Girls’ Development Officer

Kellie Williams starts her role as Women and Girls’ Development Officer on the 1st April 2020. She is the first person in Cornwall to hold such as full time post which is exciting for Cornwall and Women and Girls’ development.

Kellie is the current Senior Women’s cricket Captain, she is a level 2 cricket coach. Kellie is extremely passionate about cricket and development and holds a number of volunteering roles that sit outside of the role.




Main area of responsibility are:

  • Deliver the strategy for Women and Girls cricket over the next two years.
  • Engage Primary and Secondary schools into cricket.
  • Grow the number of U11 sections, U13 Sections and Women sections across Cornwall.
  • Provide a coherent player pathway for girls’ and women.
  • Work with Cornwall Cricket Women’s Group
  • Grow the number of volunteers involved in the female game

Tom Harris – Cricket Centre Duty Manager

Tom from St Stephen joined the team at the beginning of November to oversea the use of the Cornwall Cricket Centre. Tom is a Level 2 Children’s Cricket Coach and is currently studying at Truro College.
