Captain’s Thoughts

Skipper Matt Rowe has been reflecting on last Sunday’s exit from the T20 competition.

“Obviously we were very disappointed with our performances and generally in the T20 competition this season.
Excluding the second game on Sunday, our bowling and fielding performances have been very good and we were close to winning two of the first 6 games, meaning we could be still in with a chance of reaching finals day.
Unfortunately, T20 cricket comes down to small margins and we weren’t able to perform our skills under pressure to win those close games.
We know we have a strong side from 1-11, with equally strong replacements as well, but ultimately key players need to step up and perform more consistently.
Thankfully we still have an opportunity to execute that in the two T20’s against Devon on Sunday, hopefully, we can put in two big performances and take some momentum into our KO fixture vs Berkshire.”
